Will a celebrity stop in?

Lately I've been singing, “Who can turn the world on with her needlepoint?" Oops, I mean "her smile." If you know what song I'm singing, then you may also be a fan of The Mary Tyler Moore Show! But why am I thinking about Mary Tyler Moore? Because she was an avid needlepointer!

Take a look at the photos here. Those couches are positively covered in needlepoint pillows! We all know the amount of work that went into those pieces—and just think of how far needlepoint has come since the 1970s. We have so many new threads, canvases, and gadgets to choose from—along with the internet for inspiration and community. For those who us who have been stitching for decades, our houses probably look pretty similar to Mary's. I love thinking about this hobby that connects generations and all the ways that it will change in the next 50 years.

I don't know about you, but I love finding out about celebrities who share our love of needlepoint. Since my shop is located just minutes outside of Nashville, I always wonder if today will be the day that a celebrity walks in the door, looking for a new project. I’ve heard that Nicole Kidman is a needlepointer, and she lives close by. Will today be the day that she stops in? We'll let you know.
