Why are Scissor Fobs a big deal?

Yes, we encourage you to use a scissor fob!  Why? If you drop a pair of scissors, they will usually fall on the blade tips, perhaps even sinking the tips into the floor. This harms the tips, oftentimes bending or breaking them. If you add a scissor fob (with a bit of weight) and then drop your scissors, the fob will fall first, pulling the scissors after it. The fob somewhat breaks the fall and enables the scissors to fall in a more flat pattern versus falling on the tips.

Years ago scissors were very expensive. Women would hide their good scissors from family members as they were reserved for her sewing and needlework projects. Many of you can probably remember someone screaming "Who used my scissors? I will find you!!!".

It's not such an issue today as we are fortunate enough to have so many choices and price ranges when shopping for scissors. Yet, if you have that special, expensive pair, add the scissor fob to protect your precious merchandise.
